A mass of gold gently stirs, It raises its head and contemplates the vast wilderness... A slow growl emerges from the depth of its being. The king throws back his magnificent mane and lets out a mighty roar. He is free. He is home.

Kruger National Park was established in 1989 and stretches for 350km/220miles from South to North along the Mozambiquan border to where South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe meet. A paradise for the wildlife enthusiast with close to 150 mammals, over 380 species of trees as well as over 500 bird species

While you are in Kruger National Park you are also on a hunt - for interest and excitement there really should never be a dull second, with 'nothing to see' But like all explorers you must use skills and knowledge to increase your success rate. One of the simplest ways to do this is by knowing what you are likely to find in the different parts of Kruger - in other words to look for the right things in the right places.

When you are among the low rolling hills of Ecozones you will often find yourself in patches of dense bush, or among trees in more open woodland. Here you can search for camouflaged browsers, like Kudu or Duiker. You might well find a Lion, but they are more likely to be hunting on a plain where Zebra and Wildebeest graze.

Africa’s nights replace the moving living visual canvas of hot sunny days with the tranquil strains of Africa’s night orchestra.

The Kruger National Park offers a wide variety of accomodation, differing not only in size, facilities and visual appearance, but also in price range.

On the longer safaris like the 8 day and 10 day we sleep the last night of your trip in a private park 30 minutes outside Kruger National Park where we have the following options of activities:

A game walk (here we are accompanied by a young lioness that walks with us, there are game rangers armed with rifles for protection, but this is unlikely as she will be only a few months old).

A night drive through a well known Lion population which are accustomed to humans.
