We are operating in the Gwai area and Doma Safaris area in Hashonaland. The Gwai area is renowned for its buffalo and elephant. It has also a good compliment of sable and various plains game.
Our camp consists of 4 chalets under thatch with open facets and can accommodate 8 people with 2 sharing a chalet. The camp is situated about one and a half hours drive from Victoria Falls.
However it is only half an hour′s drive from Hwange Safari Lodge, which also has an airport.
So if there is scope to charter a plane to the safari lodge, that could be another option to consider.
Visa's and rifle permits
When landing at Victoria Falls the border officials will issue you all the paperwork you will need for the duration of your hunt. It is required that you send Lew Harris Safaris all your personal information including passport number, rifle calibres and serial numbers as well as a list of animals you would like to harvest, as this is necessary to fill in the license paperwork before the client arrives. We will then send you a letter of invite which you present at the point of entry.
Malaria medication is a must in this area and should be taken before you part on your journey.
Another important fact is that Zimbabwe allows no CAMO clothing what so ever, so please be sure to leave all your camo's at home.
