Sijaria Forrest - Zimbabwe
Sijaria Forrest Area encompasses 330,000 acres lying along the south eastern shore of Lake Kariba. This truly remote hunting area boasts one of the highest quotas of crocodile and hippo awarded by Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife and unlike other hunting areas in Zimbabwe Sijaria still has very good plains game in addition to the excellent big game. The area is comprised of Mopani forest and volcanic ridges which when combined offers outstanding habitat while still be accessible to hunters of all abilities.
Our peninsula area has no roads and is hunted by boat on Kariba Lake. We have one of the best runways in the country which makes getting to the area very easy or if you prefer a 4 hour drive from Victoria Falls is available as well. Our Camp is simply exquisite!! Gorgeous water front chalets offer stunning views of the lake and spectacular sunsets. Camp has an elegant dining area, lake shore brie pit and a pool overlooking the lake to cool off in.
Our cuisine is locally inspired and consists of game prepared by our talented chef who has been with us for over decade. Hippos commonly visit the camp and can be heard munching around the chalets nightly which along with the sounds of the lake lull hunters to rest. This camp is absolutely of the best quality available in Zimbabwe and we think it stands alone as the best in country!!
Visa's and rifle permits
When landing at Victoria Falls the border officials will issue you all the paperwork you will need for the duration of your hunt. It is required that you send Lew Harris Safaris all your personal information including passport number, rifle calibers and serial numbers as well as a list of animals you would like to harvest, as this is necessary to fill in the license paperwork before the client arrives. We will then send you a letter of invite which you present at the point of entry.
Malaria medication is a must in this area and should be taken before you part on your journey. Another important fact is that Zimbabwe allows no CAMO clothing what so ever, so please be sure to leave all your camo's at home.
