North-West Province

The North West province, sprawling plateaus of bushveld, irregularly undulating area of hot weather, semi-arid scrub, deep fertile soil and flat open plains interrupted by oddly-shaped rock formations. The province is considered by most, to be South Africa's premier gaming centre and is also an ideal destination for the holiday maker seeking a relaxing break in the untouched splendour of nature. Horizons here seem endless.

The North West does not offer the urban infrastructure of Gauteng (Johannesburg and surrounds), nor the hustle and bustle of major ports like Cape Town and Durban, but nowhere else in South Africa will you find as much celebration of the outdoors than in the bushveld arena of this untouched province. The obvious advantage the outdoor lover has in coming to the North West is twofold: one can either indulge in the wealth of excellent sporting and leisure facilities available, or rough it up in bushveld or in its nature reserves.Adventure sports lovers will find satisfaction at places such as Sun City, where a host of facilities are in place for sports most find crazy and few find addictive. Parasailing, jetskiing and other related sports can be enjoyed.

For those attracted by the other side of the province´s outdoor attracrtion, the untouched, there seems to be so much untouched here that the developed become more more notable. Hunting safaris, camping and caravaning and so on, it's all here in the form that nature intended. Facintating flora and fauna species can be viewed while roughing it up to which ever degree you find most satisfying. Enjoy a traditional South African barbeque in the cicada sunset of the valley bushveld, or make ´Lord of the Flies´ look like ´Alice in Wonderland´, don tribal make-up and head into the bush with nothing but your khakis, rifle, camera and guide.Achievement comes in many forms in the challenging, conquerable, consistently inviting outdoor world of the North West province.
